VONDERHEIDE TIMBER SALE NOTICE

Date:   Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM EDT (Jasper time). Bid opening will be held on the property at the Daniel & Carol Vonderheide residence.   

Type of Sale:  Sealed bids. Twenty percent down at contract signing, balance due before logging begins.  Buyer will have one year to remove the timber. 

Owners:  Daniel & Carol Vonderheide (Stands #1&2), Randy Vonderheide (Stand #3), Kurt Englert (Stand #4)

Location:  From the intersection of 3rd Avenue & Hwy 164 in Jasper (just south of the Patoka River by the new Mill), go east on Hwy 164 for 1.25 miles to a four way stop where Hwy 164 intersects Merdian Rd.  Continue east (straight) on Hwy 164 for 2.4 miles to a gravel driveway on your right (south).  Turn into this drive and follow it south a ¼ mile to the tan metal building sitting in the edge of the woods.  This is Randy Vonderheide’s residence.  Stand #3 is around his house and parts of Stand #2 are on either side.  Return to Hwy 164, turn right, and travel east for another 0.3 mile to Schroering Rd. on your left (north).  Turn left onto Schroering Rd. and go 100 feet at which point there is a gravel strip on the right (east) side of the road.  Pull off and park here and Stand #1 is located to the E & NE across the cropfield.  When viewing Stand #1 you will see remnants of an old fenceline running N-S marked with pinking flagging.  This is the east property line for Stand #1 and the west property line for Stand #4, which is located on the other side of the fence.  To view the remainder of Stand #2, return to Hwy 164.  Note that the white farm house across from Schroering Rd. on the south side of Hwy 164 is Dan and Carol Vonderheide’s residence.  From Schroering Rd. turn left (east) onto Hwy 164 and travel 750 feet to a set of double gates entering a pasture on your right (south).  Park here and a large portion of Stand #2 is located to the south across the pasture.  To access Stand #4 from the east, pull out of the pasture entrance and go east on Hwy 164 for another 0.2 mile to where the highway makes a sharp turn to the right (south).  Turn left off of the highway (straight) onto the gravel road on the outside of the curve.  This road goes east for about 200 feet then forks.  Turn left and go north on this road for 0.1 miles to the first place on your left (west) which is Kurt Englert’s residence.  Stand #4 is located to the W & NW of the house.  See map on back.

Remarks:  Trees are marked with blue paint.  All four stands will be sold as one sale, but the successful bidder will be asked to separate their bid by owners, enter into 3 separate contracts, and make payment by 3 separate checks.  Sellers reserve the right to accept or reject any or all bids.  The owners and their agents make no guarantees of the board feet, number, or quality of trees listed in the timber tally.  Bidders are urged to satisfy themselves as to type, quality, and quantity of timber offered for sale.  Buyer must have an Indiana timber buyer’s license.  Best management logging practices are required during the harvest operation.  Purchaser will be required to carry insurance.    Summaries of diameter and volume distributions by species, per stand and owner, are available upon request.  Stand 1 and parts of Stand 2 are a classified forest and certified under FSC certificate SCS-FM/COC-000123N as “FSC Pure”.
