Date:  Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 10:00 AM  EDT (Jasper time) Bid opening will be held at the south end of the property on CR 400 S, at the lane with a cable across from the South Area.

Type of SaleSealed or phone bids.  Twenty percent down at contract signing, with the balance due before logging begins, but no later than December 1, 2013.  Buyer will have until December 1, 2014 to remove timber.

Location:  Approximately 8 miles east of Jasper, Indiana, 4 miles west of Birdseye, Indiana, and 1.75 miles northeast of St. Anthony, Indiana in the SE¼ and the S½ , NE ¼ of Sec. 19, T2S, R3W in Jefferson Township.  From State Road 64 in Kyana, which is approximately 2.7 miles east of St. Anthony or 5.3 miles west of Birdseye, take CR 700 E, the only road north out of Kyana.  The road sweeps to the right and passes CR 650 E before turning north again.  About 1.4 miles north of SR 64 you will come to the intersection of CR 700 E and CR 400 S, which is a 4 way stop.  The north sale area is a couple of hundred feet north of the intersection on your left.  The south sale area is west of this intersection on CR 400 S about 0.3 miles to the bottom of the hill and on your left.  The bid opening will be at the lane across from the south sale area on the north side of CR 400 S.

 Remarks: The south harvest area is mainly a clear cut regeneration opening, where all trees regardless of size are considered part of the sale.  This area is marked with orange-black stripped ribbon and RED paint.  Trees with RED paint on them are NOT part of the sale.  Trees within the opening with blue paint are part of the tally.  No estimate or count was made for trees within the opening without blue paint. 

Seller reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.  The owner and their agents make no guarantees of the board feet, number, or quality of trees listed in timber summary table.  Bidders are urged to satisfy themselves as to type, quality, and quantity of timber offered for sale.  Buyer must have an Indiana Timber Buyer’s License.  Best management logging practices will be expected during the harvest operation.  Purchaser will be required to carry liability and workman’s comp. insurance.  

This is a classified forest and is certified under FSC certificate SCS-FM/COC-000123N as “FSC 100%”.  A detailed summary of diameter and volume distributions by species for the tally is available upon request.
