BLESSINGER TIMBER SALE NOTICE

Type of SaleSealed bids.  Twenty five percent down at contract signing, balance due by December 1,2013 or before logging begins, whichever comes first.  Buyer will have until November 1, 2014 to remove the timber. 

Owner:  The Blessinger Conserve  (Hilary Blessinger & Family)

Location:  Approximately 4 miles northeast of Dubois, IN and 9 miles southwest of French Lick, IN located in part of the W½, SW¼ of Section 20 and part of the N½, NW¼ of Section 29, both in T1N, R3W of Columbia Township.  From the intersection of Hwy 56 and Hwy 545 (Dubois Crossroads), go east 2.75 miles to County Road N 750 E.  Turn left (north) onto N 750 E.  You can also come approx. 9.5 miles west of French Lick on Hwy 56 to CR N 750 E.  Once on CR N 750 E go about 0.45 miles to a dirt/gravel lane on your right on the edge of a field and woods.  This lane can be used to inspect the timber to the south, but is not considered usable as a haul road.  Proceed north on the lane to a field on the ridge top.  The southeast corner of the marked woods is on the north edge of this field.  Continue northwest on CR N 750 E to the Wabash Valley Produce, Inc. turkey houses and follow the lane through the two sets of turkey houses to a north cropfield.  The log yard is on the north edge of that cropfield which lies north of the center of the marked timber.  The marked timber can be viewed by parking on the north end of the turkey houses and walking up the hill & across the pasture to the Blessinger property.  See map on back.

Remarks: Trees are marked with blue paint.  Seller reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.  The owner and their agents make no guarantees of the board feet, number, or quality of trees listed in the timber tally.  Bidders are urged to satisfy themselves as to type, quality, and quantity of timber offered for sale.  Buyer must have an Indiana timber buyer’s license.  Best management logging practices are required during the harvest operation.  The Blessinger property is land locked with access gained from the property to the west owned by Wabash Valley Produce, Inc.  This landowner will require the successful buyer to sign a Limited Access Agreement for their protection.  A copy of this agreement is available upon request.  Purchaser will be required to carry insurance.  A summary of diameter and volume distributions by species is available upon request.  This is a classified forest and is certified under FSC certificate SCS-FM/COC-000123N as “FSC 100%”.
