STECZYK TIMBER SALE NOTICE

Date:   Friday,  March 1, 2013 at 10:00 AM  EST (Jasper time).  Bid opening at the property.

Type of SaleSealed bids. Thirty percent down at contract signing, balance due before logging begins.  Buyer will have until November 1, 2014 to remove the timber.

Location:  Approximately 4 miles NE of Ferdinand, Indiana, and just west of the Ferdinand State Forest Entrance, in the S½, NE¼ of Section 13, T3S, R4W, Ferdinand Township.  From the junction of Hwy 264 and Hwy 162 on the north side of Ferdinand, take Hwy 164 west toward Ferdinand State Forest for 4 miles to CR 850 S on your right.  Just past CR 850 S is the Steczyk farm house & barnyard on your right.  Turn right into their driveway and proceed east past the house and barns taking the farm lane toward the middle of the forest.  The marked timber is on your left (north) and straight ahead (east).  The farm lane will take you about half way back through the property.  Do not drive a truck past where the lane ends and into the hay field.  You will either rut up the field or get stuck.  A 4 wheeler can be used to get to the back area.  You can also drive to the property off of State Hwy 64 taking CR 600 E to the entrance of Ferdinand State Forest and the start of Hwy 264.  Follow Hwy 264 west for 1 mile, past the first curve and to the Steczyk property on your left.  See map on back.

Remarks: Trees are marked with blue paint.  Seller reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.  The owner and their agents make no guarantees of the board feet, number, or quality of trees listed in the timber tally.  Bidders are urged to satisfy themselves as to type, quality, and quantity of timber offered for sale.  Buyer must have an Indiana timber buyer’s license.  Best management logging practices are required during the harvest operation.  Purchaser will be required to carry insurance.  Note that the owner will clean up any tops that fall out in the field during the felling of field edge trees.  A summary of diameter and volume distributions by species is available upon request.
