Type of Sale: Sealed or phone bids. Twenty-five percent down at contract signing, balance due before logging begins. Since this property is permitted for surface mining, the harvest must abide by the “Bat Rule”, which allows the cutting of trees to only occur between October 1st and April 1st. Buyer will have until December 31, 2016 to remove the timber in area A and March 31st, 2017 to remove the timber in area B.

Location: Approximately 5 miles east of Carlisle or 6.5 miles north of Freelandville in the S¼, SW¼, Sec. 9 and the N½, NW¼, the W½, NE¼, and the NE¼ , SW¼ , Sec. 16, T6N, R8W in Jefferson Township. From the intersection of US 41 and SR 58 in Carlisle, go east on SR 58 for 0.3 miles to Alexander St. Turn left on Alexander and go 0.2 miles (3 blocks) to Hackett St. Turn right on Hackett. Hackett turns into the Carlisle-Pleasantville Rd. Stay on this road for 4.9 miles to the intersection with CR 500 E. At this point the King property is to the east and south of this intersection. Remarks: This property is to be surfaced-mined for coal, thus this sale is a clearcut where all the trees on the property will be included in the sale. The tally below is a 100% inventory of all merchantable trees 14 inches DBH and larger (with the exception of 30- 13 inch DBH walnut trees that were also tallied). All trees in the tally were marked with a small spot of paint at breast height. Seller reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. The owner and their agents make no guarantees of the board feet, number, or quality of trees listed in the timber tally. Bidders are urged to satisfy themselves as to type, quality, and quantity of timber offered for sale. Buyer must have an Indiana timber buyer’s license. Purchaser will be required to carry general liability insurance & workers’ compensation.
