BROCKSMITH TIMBER SALE NOTICE

Type of SaleSealed bid. Fifty percent down at contract signing, balance due before logging begins.  The buyer will only have 3 months to remove timber.   Since the area around Stand #1 will be cleared for farming as-soon-as-possible, bids will be considered on both price and the timing of the logging.   

Owner:  Brocksmith Farms

Location: Part of SE ¼ of Section 18, T5N, R8W, Winder Twp.  The property is located approximately 1 mile west of the Freelandville, Indiana and 6 miles north of Bicknell, Indiana. From the intersection of Hwy 58 and Hwy 159 in Freelandville, take Hwy 159 south toward Bicknell and travel 0.3 miles to Co Rd 900 N (not marked) on your right.  This is also referred to the Lower Freelandville Road.  Turn right onto Co Rd 900 N and follow road 1.5 miles to the Brocksmith property.  The property is just west of a sharp “S” curve in the road and just west of Co Rd BB.  Turn into the dirt lane and proceed north to the old abandon house & buildings surrounded by trees.  This house, buildings, and trees will be cleared for farming and all timber around the house is available for the successful bidder to cut.  The walnut planting (Stand #1) is on the north & west side of the old house.  The trees in the tally are marked with a red line of paint at breast height.

 

To get to Stand #2, return to Co Rd 900 N and go north on Co Rd BB that runs adjacent the east side of the property.  Stand #2 is the first woods you come to on your left and located at the northeast corner of the property. Most of the marked trees in this stand are near the road.  The Brocksmiths plan to ditch the edge of the road and trees along the ditch will be removed.  Trees to sell in this stand are marked in red paint and only the red painted trees are for sale.  See the map on back.

WAGLER-CALLENBAUGH-MARNER TIMBER SALE NOTICE

Type of Sale:  Sealed bids. Twenty five percent down at contract signing, balance due before logging begins.  Buyer will have one year to remove the timber.

Owner:  Willis Wagler, Don Callenbaugh, & Marcus Marner

Location:  Approximately 5 miles north of Worthington, Indiana in parts of the S½ of Section 34, T9N, R5W, Jefferson Township, Owen County and in parts of the NW¼ of Section 3, T8N, R5W of Jefferson Township, Green County.  From the center of Worthington, take Hwy 231/67 North (toward Spencer) for 2.8 miles to CR 25W.  There is a white sign at this turn for Marner Wood Products.  Turn left, north on CR 25W and follow the road for 2.3 miles until the road “T”s into Wagler Rd. or CR 850S  (Note that CR 25W becomes CR 60W and on this road you will pass the Marner Wood Products building where the bid opening will take place.)  At this point, Tracts 1 & 2 are located in front of you, north across the bean field. To access Tracts #1 & #2, turn right and go about 100 yards to where you can drive into the bean field.  Turn into the field and drive north along the east edge of field to the marked timber.  Tract #2 is along the north edge of the field (trees marked in orange), and Tract #1 is north and east of Tract #2 (trees marked in blue).  These Tracts are separated by orange & black striped flagging.  Pink flagging is hung along the out-lying property boundary of both tracts.  To see Tract #3, return to Wagler Rd. and go west back to CR 60W.  Turn on CR 60W and drive 0.4 miles toward the Marner Wood Products, to the 3rd gravel driveway on your left.  There is no house on this property, but there is a pole barn with hay equipment in the barn and a red livestock trailer parked outside.  Turn left into the gravel driveway and the marked timber (trees marked in blue) is east of the barn & parking area.  Pink flagging is hung along the out-lying property boundary.  See map on back.

COMTE TIMBER SALE NOTICE

Type of Sale:  Sealed bids. Fifty percent down at contract signing, with balance due by when logging begins.  Buyer will have until December 1, 2013 to remove the timber.

Owner:  Marcel Comte.

Location:  Approximately 2 miles west of Freedom, Indiana, in the N½ of Section 24, T9N5 R6W, Jefferson Township.  From the flashing caution light on Hwy 231/67 in Freedom (between Spencer & Worthington), turn west on the Freedom-Arney Rd. & follow road for approximately 2.8 miles to Clark Orchard Rd. on your left (south).  Turn onto Clark Orchard Rd. and go 0.5 mile to the “T” where Clark Orchard Rd. turns right (west) and Harrington Rd. goes left (east).  Turn right & travel west on Clark Orchard Rd. for 0.75 miles at which point the road dead ends into a gated gravel lane that leads back to the Comte residence.  This gate is the start of the Comte property, which is in front and to your left.  The marked timber is located in the forest that surrounds the Comte residence.  A map & aerial photo is available on request

HARDER TIMBER SALE NOTICE

Owner:  Richard & Carol Harder

Location: These are 2 tracts of timber within 1 mile of each other and will be sold as one sale.  They are located approximately 3 & 4 miles east of Haysville, Indiana and just south of Hwy 56.  Tract #1 is located in the N ½, SE¼, SW¼ of Section 35 and Tract #2 is located NW¼ SE¼ of Section 34, both in T1N, R4W, of Harbison Township.  Tract #1 can be reached by taking Hwy 56 East out of Haysville and traveling 4 miles east to County Road N 445 E.  Turn south (right and only way) on N 445 E and go approximately ½ mile to Tract #1 on right side of road.  You will pass the Kalb turkey barns and go down the hill to the first woods on your right.  Access into property is at the SE corner of the 20 acre tract.

 

To get to Tract #2, go back to Hwy 56 and go west toward Haysville ¾ mile to first unmarked county road on left (just over the top of a hill).  This road leads back past a white Dubois Water Tower.  Turn left and take this road south for approx. ¼ mile where the road makes a hard turn to the left and there is a house & concrete driveway straight ahead.  At this point, you’re at the NE corner of Tract #2 and the north property line is on your right.

VONDERHEIDE TIMBER SALE NOTICE

Date:   Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM EDT (Jasper time). Bid opening will be held on the property at the Daniel & Carol Vonderheide residence.   

Type of Sale:  Sealed bids. Twenty percent down at contract signing, balance due before logging begins.  Buyer will have one year to remove the timber. 

Owners:  Daniel & Carol Vonderheide (Stands #1&2), Randy Vonderheide (Stand #3), Kurt Englert (Stand #4)

Location:  From the intersection of 3rd Avenue & Hwy 164 in Jasper (just south of the Patoka River by the new Mill), go east on Hwy 164 for 1.25 miles to a four way stop where Hwy 164 intersects Merdian Rd.  Continue east (straight) on Hwy 164 for 2.4 miles to a gravel driveway on your right (south).  Turn into this drive and follow it south a ¼ mile to the tan metal building sitting in the edge of the woods.  This is Randy Vonderheide’s residence.  Stand #3 is around his house and parts of Stand #2 are on either side.  Return to Hwy 164, turn right, and travel east for another 0.3 mile to Schroering Rd. on your left (north).  Turn left onto Schroering Rd. and go 100 feet at which point there is a gravel strip on the right (east) side of the road.  Pull off and park here and Stand #1 is located to the E & NE across the cropfield.  When viewing Stand #1 you will see remnants of an old fenceline running N-S marked with pinking flagging.  This is the east property line for Stand #1 and the west property line for Stand #4, which is located on the other side of the fence.  To view the remainder of Stand #2, return to Hwy 164.  Note that the white farm house across from Schroering Rd. on the south side of Hwy 164 is Dan and Carol Vonderheide’s residence.  From Schroering Rd. turn left (east) onto Hwy 164 and travel 750 feet to a set of double gates entering a pasture on your right (south).  Park here and a large portion of Stand #2 is located to the south across the pasture.  To access Stand #4 from the east, pull out of the pasture entrance and go east on Hwy 164 for another 0.2 mile to where the highway makes a sharp turn to the right (south).  Turn left off of the highway (straight) onto the gravel road on the outside of the curve.  This road goes east for about 200 feet then forks.  Turn left and go north on this road for 0.1 miles to the first place on your left (west) which is Kurt Englert’s residence.  Stand #4 is located to the W & NW of the house.  See map on back.
